Concept of Stomach emptying time

These days fitness spa's, Fit Camps and weight loss spas are emphasizing too much on the concept of gastric emptying time. They are also speaking about the fact that the food has to be consumed every three to four hours each for effective weight loss. Gastric emptying time is nothing but time taken by the stomach to process the contents of the stomach. A major chunk of people take almost 45 minutes to process carbohydrates, 2 hours for protein processing and 4 hours to process fats in their stomach. This does not indicate that you need to consume fats in the morning so as to stay full for the rest of the day, but do remember the fact that the intake should be in such a way that there should be a blend of all the three. The main function of carbohydrates is to give energy, provision of proper body building blocks for the growth and muscles of the other tissues of the body, this is one of the facts emphasized in the weight loss retreat.

The way in which the body works is that when you eat some amount of carbohydrates, proteins along with some amount of fats then the body takes too much time to process and you will feel less hungry. The main reason for spacing the meals is that after the stomach gets vacated, it is important to remember that the stomach needs to be filled up again. As it gets filled up it can gain start the processing of energy and the nutrient better with ease. It is important to remember the fact that the stomach can process only when there is medium amount of food rather than too much of food. Incase there is too much of food then the excess will be stored as fat.
